February 2026

Per-round registration opened to clubs this month, and the director's side of registration grew the tools that a hundred-player field demands.

Per-round registration

Weekly and monthly club events can now run on per-round registration: players sign up for the individual rounds they can attend rather than the tournament as a whole, and pay for only those rounds. The groundwork went in over January; this month it opened to clubs, with the payment side finished.

  • Players can register for multiple sections in a per-round event
  • The number of rounds a player signs up for is editable after the fact
  • A per-round payment view in the registration dialog, with payment status a director can set directly
  • Rounds a player did not register for read Unpaired rather than a bare dash, so their score reflects what they actually played

Byes and notes at sign-up

Signed-in players can request byes and leave a note for the director while registering, instead of emailing afterwards. Rounds where a bye is not allowed are shown struck through with a red X, so the restriction is visible before anyone asks. Directors can edit those notes later from the registration dialog.

FIDE

Sections can now choose which FIDE rating applies — standard, rapid, or blitz — and the rating popover shows all of them. Where a section is rated by both federations, a FIDE ID can be entered by hand rather than waiting for a lookup to find it.

Built for a full hall

Standings and pairings tables are now searchable, filterable, and virtualized, which means a four-hundred-player section scrolls as smoothly as a twelve-player one. The registrations and sections tabs poll for changes while a director has them open, so two people working the same event see the same thing.

More for directors

  • Pending-payment management — see who started a checkout and never finished it, and clear or complete it
  • The Details tab on a tournament page, carrying the description and the registration link
  • Drag a player to unpaired directly from the pairing editor, recording the bye request
  • USCF export is available while a tournament is still Active, not only once it is complete
  • Ratings are recalculated when a tournament is marked complete

Documentation

The /docs section went live with fourteen guides covering setup, registration and payments, running rounds, ratings integrations, and displays — including a new Tournament Types reference. Screenshots in the guides are captured by script against a real running build, so they age with the product instead of ahead of it.
