October 2026
October brings public club follows, recurring club Events, easier duplication, Under prizes across rating systems, precise scheduling, optional venue maps, shareable tournament prize results, and club prize reports.
Offer Under prizes across rating systems
Directors can set an Under rating threshold for Online-, FIDE-, or NWSRS-only sections, making rating-band prizes possible without requiring US Chess ratings. Awards use the section's rating system; US Chess Class prizes remain for USCF-rated sections. See Running Tournaments.
Set the time for your club Events
Give a meetup or umbrella Event a start time, an optional end time, and its own timezone, just as you can for a tournament. Times appear on the Event page and club schedule, and calendar subscribers receive the timed entry in their own calendar. See Creating Club Events.
Help visitors find your Event
Club Events can now display a Google Map of their location, just like tournaments. Set a location and leave Show map on when creating an Event, or enable it when editing an existing one. Visitors can see the venue on the Event page and open it in Google Maps for directions. See Creating Club Events.
Repeat your club meetups
Recurring Series can now use a simple Event as the template. Create a source Event directly from the series wizard, then keep weekly meetups or monthly club nights on the calendar automatically, with the same description, location and images. Generate drafts to review or publish them automatically, skip holidays, and sync upcoming Events when the template changes. Tournament links are added separately to each occurrence.
For a one-off repeat, use Duplicate Event to copy an Event with a new title and dates. The copy starts as a draft and leaves the original's tournament links in place. See Duplicating and repeating Events.
Choose more monthly dates for recurring series
Tournament- and Event-backed recurring series can now schedule every occurrence of a selected weekday except the final one in each month. For example, an “All except Last Friday” schedule creates the first three Fridays in a month with four and the first four in a month with five, making it easy to hold most weeks while reserving the month's final week. See Recurring Series.
Keep your favorite clubs close
Follow a public club from its page without joining it, then find it alongside your memberships in My Clubs on Home and the Clubs page. Clubs you only follow carry a Following label, while memberships retain your role. Registering yourself or another player for one of its tournaments while signed in follows the organizer automatically for your account, unless you already belong to that club. Following keeps clubs easy to find while membership remains invite-only; you can unfollow whenever you like. Club staff can also see who follows their club in the Followers section at the bottom of Accounts. See Following a public club and Viewing Club Followers.
Share tournament prize results
Tournament directors can now opt to show prize awards and winners on a tournament's public page. The same summary is included in that tournament's public API response, while payment amounts and TD payout notes remain private. See Running Tournaments.
Review paid prizes across your club
Club owners and admins can open Prize Reports from their club's Quick Actions to see cash prizes marked paid in a year or a custom date range. The ledger shows each player's winnings and actual net payment, uses tournament end dates as its Date Paid convention, and exports to CSV for your accountant. A player summary counts tournaments and totals net payments, so deductions from prizes are visible without transcribing each event by hand. See Prize Reports.

-
Read registered players’ FIDE federation codes across all public tournament API responses, alongside the existing USCF state codes. See FIDE Integration.
-
Switch tournament standings to printable-style text results with Text mode, or let supported high-contrast and forced-colors browser preferences select it automatically.

Reuse familiar player names
Turn on Registration Name Normalization for a tournament to use a returning player's name from their last completed event at your club when their USCF, FIDE, or NWSRS ID matches. It is off by default and can reduce the name corrections directors make before an event. Players with an intentional name change should contact the club. See Registration & Payments.
